Imphal, October 28 2026:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has appealed to all sections of people to join the mega rally scheduled on October 31, 2026 at Imphal.
A press release issued by COCOMI alleged that the Government of India has been waging a proxy using narco terrorists and an invisible hand against its own indigenous citizens in Manipur.
Demanding an immediate end to this proxy war, hill people and plain people of the State will take out a massive rally from Tiddim Ground, Kwakeithel to THAU Ground, Thangmeiband on October 31, it said before appealing to all sections of people to join the rally.
COCOMI has also appealed to all transport organisations (bus, winger, Magic, auto, e-rickshaw etc) to support the rally and help in transporting participants of the rally.
Saying that certain elements have been conspiring constantly to create discord and distrust among the different communities, it called upon each and every citizen to stand united and defeat all challenges to the unity and integrity of Manipur with a collective voice.
Illegal immigrants and narco-terrorists have been unleashing a campaign of genocide by waging open and secret wars against the indigenous people of Manipur.
At the same time, a large number of indigenous people have been forced to live like refugees in their own homeland.
This must be brought to an end immediately, COCOMI added.
Meanwhile, the Meitei Society, Churachandpur has announced that it would fully support the mass rally being organised by COCOMI and other CSOs at Imphal on October 31 .
A press release issued by the society said that the double-engine Government has been giving a free hand to Kuki terrorists and letting them kill innocent Meiteis and Nagas.
Apart from the financial support of Rs 100 each given to the IDPs, the Government has been paying no attention to the suffering of IDPs and the horrible conditions under which they have been living in relief camps for the last more than three years, it said.
The Meitei Society said that it was the Government's repeated claims that peace had returned and National Highways were opened which led to the death of three innocent lives from Nongshum.
The Meitei Meetei Kanba Apunba Lup (MMKAL) has also extended unconditional support to the mass rally of indigenous people scheduled on October 31 .
It also expressed solidarity with the objectives declared by COCOMI and other organisers of the rally.
