KLA cadres remanded

Eight cadres of the Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) who were arrested by a combined team of security forces from Gampum village along with arms and ammunition on September 7 have been remanded in police custody.
The KLA cadres were produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East on Tuesday .
Sources said that the KLA cadres were kept in a camp of Central forces in view of the prevailing tense situation at Saikul and Kangpokpi.
They were produced before the Court under tight security measures.
The Court, after hearing the submission of counsels and on perusal of the case record, remanded the KLA cadres in police custody till September 14 .
According to the sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to file an application to Court seeking permission to make formal arrest of the eight KLA cadres in connection with a case related to Manipur violence taken up by the agency.
