AR seizes drugs worth Rs 3.9 cr, nabs one

Imphal, November 10 2022:
Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles IGAR (South) foiled cross border smuggling of narcotics at Moreh on November 8.According to PRO IGAR (S), based on specific input regarding movement of narcotics in general area of Moreh, a check post was established.
At about 12.25 pm, a suspected Eeco Van, occupied by civilians including women and children as passengers, was intercepted.
On inspecting the vehicle, narcotics were found hidden in the modified petrol tank of the vehicle that included 1.7 kg of brown sugar in 43 soap cases, 0.815 kg of WIY tablets and Rs 15,000 cash.
The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 3.9 crore.
The recovered items along with the drug smuggler have been handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation.
