Acting on allegations raised by Cong...MSRRDA constitutes probe panel

After Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee claimed that crores have been misappropriated without completing Galkapkot to Gamhul road in Churachandpur district, the Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) has constituted a committee to investigate the claim.
While the committee led by Chief Engineer, Rural Engineering Department, MSRRDA is to submit its report by December 6, the Department has also served a notice to the contractor concerned.
Notably, the MPCC members led by its president K Meghachandra had inspected the 26 kilometres long Galkapkot to Gamhul road in Churachandpur district and had claimed that the road was declared completed without actually completing it.
It was also claimed that Rs 8.29 crore had been withdrawn by contractor M Dama Vaiphei.
Reacting to reports published in papers regarding the claim, the Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency, Rural Engineering Department had served a notice to M Dama Vaiphei, special class contractor, on November 7 giving him seven working days to respond regarding the matter.
The notice served also warned of blacklisting him if a reply is not given within the given timeline.
Further, the committee that will inspect the road is led by Pantishing Thaimei, CE/EO, RED/MSRRDA as Chairman, Kh Rajen Singh, ACE (II)/SQC, RED/MSRRDA as Convenor and Th Ingocha Singh, ACE (I)/P, RED/MSRRDA and Th Abo Meitei, SE (M), RED/MSRRDA as members.
The committee will submit its report by December 6 .
