Calls for drug-free life, unity echoed at KSO event

The 1st KSO-GHQ Championship Trophy -2022 organised by Kuki Students' Organisation - General Headquarters (KSO-GHQ) concluded at 2nd MR Ground, here, on Thursday with calls for leading a drug-free life and unity among the indigenous communities marking the valedictory speeches of dignitaries.
In her address, Commerce & Industries minister Nem-cha Kipgen said sports is one of the best forms of education for youth towards leading a disciplined and drug-free life.
Manipur is popularly known as the sports powerhouse of India and sports not only bring fame to the state but also help in keeping the youth away from drugs, she said and emphasised on the importance of education and sports in shaping the future of the youth.
According to social activist and ICHAM advisor N Rajendro, all the indigenous communities are one as such they should stand united as Manipuris and safeguard the territory, integrity and identity of the state.
While called upon all concerned not to create rift among the communities, he too pointed out that sports play a vital role in keeping the youth away from drugs and bringing about a healthy society.
Rajendro also assured of possible assistance from his side in the future editions of the championship.
Henglep MLA Letjamang Haokip and Kuki Women's Union president Avei Haokip also attended the event as presidium members.
