Meanwhile, the Naga People's Organization (NPO) has strongly condemned the act of placing a hand grenade at the office of ADC Senapati.
The horror of violence and the trend of monetary demand from various groups/organizations need to stop immediately, the NPO said.
The NPO further called for violence free society and urged the law enforcing agencies to be more vigilant and pursue the present case to its logical conclusion and book those responsible for the act and award befitting punishment to deter such acts in future.
The Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) said they are infuriated on learning that some unidentified miscreants had placed one hand grenade at the gate of ADC, Senapati.
Such acts of barbarism and cowardice cannot have a place in a harmonious and civilized society, the SDWA said.
It also urged the competent authorities to take up the case on a serious note, book the criminals immediately and award exemplary punishment so as to avoid recurrence of such incidents.
The Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) too has condemned the incident.
Though the grenade didn't go off and no one was hurt, the SDSA perceived it as some form of threat or warning, the student body said.
"In this modern era, it is no longer the time to turn to violence as a means to solve any problem.
Rather, one should always look for a democratic means of dialogue and solution", the SDSA said.
The Karong Senapati Town Committee has also condemned the incident as barbaric and atrocious.
