Operation of Sawombung block office from Nov 13

Lamlai MLA Kh Ibomcha has informed that offices of Sawombung SDO/SDC and sub-registrar, which are presently located within the complex of Imphal East DC office at Porompat will be re-shifted and start operation from Sawombung office complex with effect from November 13 .
Ahead of actual re shifting of the office, the MLA along with volunteers of local club and meira paibi groups conducted a social service at the Sawombung office complex on Thursday.
Speaking in this regard, MLA Ibomcha pointed out that government offices could not function properly in far off places due to unstable law and order situation in the state some years back.
As such, staff of SDO, SDC and sub-registrar offices could not sit at their Sawombung offices and had to function from Porompat DC office complex.
While acknowledging that such uncertain situation caused serious inconveniences to the people in visiting the offices for different purposes, he explained that in view of the improvement in law and order situation, the government resolved to renovate the Sawombung office complex and start functioning from November 13 under the CM's 100 days programme.
The inconveniences endured by people of the area in visiting Porompat for different purposes will be addressed to a great extent with the re-shifting of the offices, said the MLA.
