CPI observes 7th death anniversary of Ph Parijat

CPI national executive member Dr M Nara has observed that candidates who use muscle and money power to win election will do nothing good for public after getting elected.
Pheiroijam Parijat Memorial Trust on Sunday observed the 7th death anniversary of Pheiroijam Parijat at Chalou Irabot Park under Lamlai assembly constituency.
Speaking at the programme which started wit h paying of floral,tributes to the statue of Ph Parijat, Dr M Nara recalled that Ph Parijat worked for the welfare of public especially for uplift of the farmers.
Dr Nara assured of making utmost effort so as to ensure dreams of the late leader materialise With the support of the Trust.
Dr Nara also condemned the violent incidents that occurred during the just concluded assembly election in the state.
Election should be held in a free and fair manner with voters given the right to choose candidates of their choice.
But in the recent state assembly election there were numerous incidents where muscle and money power were used to influence voters, electors were stopped from exercising their rights, exclusion of polling agents of opposing candidates from entering the polling booths, etc., which is highly unfortunate, he stated.
Dr Nara continued that such candidates after get ting elected will never do anything for the people and the state.
The future of Manipur will be perilous, he cautioned.
The death anniversary was also attended by CPI Manipur State Councilstate secretary L Sotinkumar, other party officials and members.
