One fatality, 10 new cases reported

Imphal, March 06 2022:
The state on Sunday reported only 10 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 946 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 1.06 per cent against 1.42 per cent recorded on Saturday.
Sunday also reported one death case which took the total toll from the pandemic to 2115 .
The victim was a resident of Imphal West district, who had received first dose of Covid vaccine.
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated persons of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 29 patients were discharged from home isolation (23), RIMS (3) and CCCs (3).The active case came down to 248 out of which 85 (34.27 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 281 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 116 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,110 positive cases and 113 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 115 new positive cases and 3 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 140 and 4 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 10 fresh cases (4 male & 6 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at various testing centres (10) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (4), Imphal West (3), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,898 (general population - 1,31,885 and CAPF personnel - 5,013).Number of recovered cases is 1,34,535 (general population - 1,29,538 and CAPF personnel - 4,997) and number of active cases is 248 (general population - 239 and CAPF personnel - 9).The recovery rate is 98.27 per cent.
A total of 228 D-type and 82 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the 24 hours and 2930 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,16,617, out of which 11,51,266 had received second doses and 61,142 taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,647), Imphal East (30,397), Thoubal (10,129), Churachandpur (11,039), Kangpokpi (3125), Tamenglong (3468), Bishnupur (9812), Senapati (2481), Ukhrul (3260), Kakching (6874), Chandel (2705), Noney (1156), Tengnoupal (1196), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,118 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,629 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,09,398 tests per million population against the national average of 5,50,314 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.66 per cent.
