Union comes up with charter off demands

Onaemeto Youth & Students Organization (OHYSO), popularly known as Oinam Union, submitted a charter of demands to authorities concerned in connection with killing of K Longvao and injuring some other people by security forces at 47/49 Ngamju polling station under Karong assembly constituency on Saturday.
The charter of demands addressed to Returning Officer of Karong (ST) AC include arrest and court marshalling of the CISF soldier involved in the firing and providing government job to next of kin of the victim.
The union also forwarded copies of its demands to the Manipur CEO and chief secretary.
Mention may be made here that Longvao (25) son of T Kah of Ngamju village was killed while another youth namely V Shaopae (25) son of Vani suffered injuries when CISF (520 Adhoc 341C) soldiers deployed at Ngamju polling station opened fire.
The CISF personnel also allegedly thrashed four women and three men in the aftermath of the firing incident.
According to a statement of Oinam Union, CISF personnel were deployed in the village to ensure free and fair conduct of the election but they resorted to point blank firing towards innocent villagers without any provocation killing Longvao and hurting Shaopae, who is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS hospital.
