New cases, TPR rise again

Imphal, March 08 2022:
A day after reporting single digit daily new cases and below 1 per cent test positivity rate, the state on Tuesday logged 18 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1326 samples tested, with positivity rate of 1.36 per cent against 0.54 per cent recorded on Monday.
No new death case was reported on Monday and the toll remains at 2115 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 192 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 25 patients were discharged from home isolation (17), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and CCCs (4) .
The active case came down to 112 out of which 56 (50 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 284 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 117 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,133 positive cases and 113 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 138 new positive cases and 3 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 118 and 3 respectively.
According to official reports, the 18 fresh cases include 17 persons (8 male & 9 female) from among the general population and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (16) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (2), Kakching (1), Bishnupur (2), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (1), Churachandpur (2) and Senapati (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,921 (general population - 1,31,907 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,694 (general population - 1,29,695 and CAPF personnel - 4999) and number of active cases is 112 (general population - 104 and CAPF personnel - 8) .
The recovery rate is 98.37 per cent.
A total of 252 D-type and 76 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 4442 vaccine doses were administered on Monday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,17,897, out of which 11,54,505 had received second doses and 61,495 precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,652), Imphal East (30,399), Thoubal (10,131), Churachandpur (11,042), Kangpokpi (3125), Tamenglong (3469), Bishnupur (9815), Senapati (2482), Ukhrul (3261), Kakching (6877), Chandel (2705), Noney (1157), Tengnoupal (1197), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (703), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,125 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,634 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,10,125 tests per million population against the national average of 5,51,993 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1326 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.36 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.65 per cent.
