AR celebrate International Women's Day

Imphal/Noney, March 08 2022:
Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted an inspirational event remembering the role of women in the independence struggle by organising a lecture on women freedom fighters followed by lectures on Sukanya Samridhi Yojana (by SBI executive) and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao lecture for families/children of Keithelmanbi garrison.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the lectures were conducted to increase awareness among the families/children of the garrison about the glorious role of women in the independence struggle and their importance in present society.
The families and children appreciated the informative lectures conducted by Assam Rifles which would be a right Step towards inculcating spirit of patriotism and pride in women of our society, the PRO said.
Noney Battalion Assam Rifles of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (East) also celebrated International Women's Day on Tuesday.
International Women's Day is commemorated for the cultural, political and socio-economic achievements of women.
It is also a focal point in the Women Rights Movement and bringing attention to issues like gender equality.
Women must be given equal opportunity in every field like education, politics and sports to empower them.
The theme of the 2022 International Women's Day is "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow", looking to highlight the contribution of women and girls who have participated in their campaigns for promoting climate change adaption, mitigation and response, in order to build a more sustainable future for all.
In continuation of the celebration, Noney Battalion also felicitated Thanriangliu Gangmei daughter of Lansingam Gangmei of Noney Part - III village, who took part in the Republic Day Parade 2022 at Rajpath, New Delhi representing the NCC North East Region.
She was among the few cadets who got selected for the parade from Manipur.
During the felicitation ceremony she also shared her experiences of the proud moment of joining the parade.
Speaking on the occasion, Noney Battalion commandant congratulated her for the achievement and making her patent proud.
The commandant also expressed that she shall act as a role model for other young girls who dream to join NCC, Armed Forces and serve the country and make Noney and Manipur proud.
