Awareness on women's health held

Indian Association of Physiotherapists Women Cell (IAPWC), Manipur Chapter and Past Pupils' Association, Little Flower School (PPALFS), Imphal jointly organised a one-day awareness programme on 'women's health and gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow' on the occasion of International Women's Day at the premises of the school on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, IAPWC Manipur Chapter sub-coordinator Dr Holyta Kamei stressed on the importance of women's health in bringing gender equality.
The programme is being organised with the objective of creating awareness on maintaining good mental and physical health among women.
Often some women are left without any means to consult with doctor when they have health problem, she noted.
She also said that a demonstration on some exercises will be held as part of the programme to keep women healthy.
Little Flower School Imphal principal sister Maria Dilbung, headmistress sister Kaini Martha, sister Sujee and IAPWC state coordinator Angom Rita attended the programme as the presidium members.
Dr Ahanthem Merina spoke as resource person.
Female teachers of the school and office bearers of PPALFS also participated in the programme.
