Blessing ceremony held for peace messenger to 5 NE States

A blessing ceremony was held for Maibam Bemlei who will undertake a 20-day tour of five North East States to spread awareness about the conflict in Manipur.
The ceremony was held today at the residence of veteran politician and former Minister Okram Joy at Kakwa Huidrom Leikai Maibam Bemlei from Tentha Heibung, Thoubal district said she will begin her journey from September 16 and visit Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
She will meet various organisations, student bodies, women organisations and Chief Ministers of the States to apprise them of the conflict unfolding in Manipur since May 3, 2023 .
Bemlei, who is originally from Lakhinagar, Golaghat district, Assam and married to Maibam Jugindro of Tentha Heibung, is fluent in Bengali, Assamese, Nagamese and Hindi.
Veteran politician Okram Joy blessed her journey and wished that her mission to bring peace to the State by informing people of the five States about Manipur's crisis succeeds.
