Manipur thump Assam as Sikkim win

Imphal, July 12 2022: Manipur Sangais inflicted a heavy 10-0 defeat on Assam Rhinos while Sikkim Pandas beat Tripura Pythons 2-0 in Tuesday's fixtures of the 1st North East Women's Football League 2022 at SAI Sports Complex, Takyel.

I Prameshowri and Y Kiranbala grabbed a treble each in the home team's emphatic victory over the Assam side.

Manipur went into action mode from the word go as Prameshwori opened the floodgates with a 5th-minute opener and then she extended the lead in the space of two minutes.

Kiranbala tripled the lead in the 13th minute before Prameshwori completed her hat-trick in the 16th minute and put the hosts 4-0 up.

Manipur's scoring spree continued and it stretched through 23 minutes after their fourth goal.

N Priyanka found the fifth in the 20th minute as S Rinaroy made it 6-0 in the 24th minute.

Then Kiranbala scored her second and team's seventh goal in the 33rd minute before A Roja struck twice (41', 45') to put the home team 9-0 up.

Kiranbala then rounded off the scoring to make it 10-0 with her third goal in the 51st minute.

Earlier, Sikkim Pandas secured their second win after beating Tripura Pythons by a 2-0 margin.

Luxmi Tamang opened the scoring in the 36th minute arid Lako Phuti doubled the lead in the 64th minute for the eventual result.
