Imphal, August 10 2026: A high-level meeting of the Combined Headquarters (Unified Command) was held today at the Chief Minister's Secretariat with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand in the chair.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the prevailing law and order situation across the State including the security scenario along the National Highways of the State.

The high-level meeting was attended by Dr Puneet Kumar Goel, Chief Secretary; Kuldiep Singh, Advisor (Security); Mukesh Singh, Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur; Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo ADGP (Intelligence); Major General Gaurav Sharma, IGAR (South); Major General Subhankar Basu, GOC 57 Mountain Division and Rajendra Narayan Dash, IG, CRPF (M&N Sector) .

Senior representatives from Central paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies, including the Joint Director of the SIB, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Deputy Inspector General of BSF, the Commandant of ITBP, and the Officer Commanding of SSB, Manipur were also present during the meeting.

Following the Unified Command meeting, the Chief Minister also chaired a high-level meeting with the same top security officials and representatives of transporters and discussed the resumption of the Imphal-Guwahati and Imphal-Dimapur bus services soon.

It may be mentioned that the resumption of Imphal-Guwahati and Imphal- Dimapur bus services was jointly declared by Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu Assembly Constituency MLA Haokholet Kipgen at Kangpokpi district headquarters on August 8, 2026 .

Taking to the social media, Chief Minister Y Khemchand wrote, "Chaired the Combined HQ (Unified Command) meeting today at the CM Secretariat, Babu-para in the presence of the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, DGP, Commissioner (Home) and senior officials of the State Police, Assam Rifles, Army and CAPFs" .

Khemchand said that the meeting reviewed the prevailing law and order situation along the State's highways and discussed necessary measures to prevent any attempts to disrupt peace and normal movement.

"Our Government remains steadfast in ensuring safe, secure and uninterrupted movement of passengers and essential goods on the highways while strengthening peace, stability and normalcy across Manipur", the Chief Minister added.
