SCCC upstage WYC by 52 runs in MNCA Elite Tournament

SCCC (Singjamei) pulled off a convincing 52-run win over WYC (Thoubal) in a low-scoring match in the 6th MNCA Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Electing to bat, SCCC were all out for 108 in 33 overs.
The Singjamei side built their total with contributions from Lishan Meitei Khaidem (20), Jaali Ahmed Chisti (15), Abdul Kasim (13), Hernan Luwang Thounaojam (12) and Basant (12).Four of SCCC's wickets fell prey to Thoudam Rohit Singh's three-over spell, two to Khundrakpam James Singh and one each to Tayenjam Tomba Singh, Mangi Sharma Gotimayum and Huirongbam Biteshwor Singh.
SCCC made up for their poor innings with a fiery bowling attack that finished off their opponents for a meagre 56 in 20.3 overs.
Abdul Kasim turned out to be the hero for the Singjamei squad as he ripped through WYC's batting order and racked up five wickets off his seven overs.
Sandeep Chakraborty did his bit with two scalps while Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum, Basant and Lishan Meitei Khaidem accounted for one wicket each in their team's 52-run triumph.
For WYC, Thokchom Mo mocha Singh (23) was the lone bright spot in their dismal run chase.
Abdul Kasim was named the man of the match.
CHAMP and CYCLONE will clash on Wednesday.
