Guv flags off Army Expedition team

Imphal, April 12 2022:
Governor La Ganesan flagged off Army Medical Corps Motorcycle Expedition team from Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Tuesday morning.
The expedition team had arrived here from Silchar on Monday.
Talking to the team, Governor said "we are proud of our brothers in the army, they are protecting our country not only in the line of defence but also in many ways".
While lauding the efforts made by the army to fight the Covid pandemic, Ganesan said Army Medical Corps has been taking a great role to eradicate the pandemic.
He also thanked the team members and wished them smooth completion of their expedition.
Later, he flagged off the team from Raj Bhavan for Kohima.
The team was led by Colonel Rajesh Adhau.
The expedition was flagged off from India Gate in New Delhi on April 3 and reached Imphal via Silchar covering a distance of nearly 2,700 km.
The Army expedition team will cover over 10,000 km, out of which 5,500 km are in the northeast region over a span of 20 days.
