Bee rearing training begins at Ukhrul village

Imphal, April 12 2022:
A three-day training programme on bee rearing and honey cultivation jointly organised by Indian Council for Agricultural Research, Apunba Imagee Machasing and Young Honey Promotion Society began from Monday at Khamasom Waleli village in Ukhrul district.
The opening session of the training held at Khamasom Waleli village community hall was attended by Union minister of state for education and external affair Dr RK Ranjan, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University faculty Dr Homen Thangjam, South Asia Bamboo Foundation executive director Kemesh Keisham, Khamasom Waleli village authority chairman G Kasomwoshi, YHPS president K Vareiyo and AIMS president M Khelendro as presidium members.
The opening session held in both virtual and offline mode was participated by various stakeholders from different countries.
Taking part in the opening programme virtually, Dr RK Ranjan recalled his visit to Waleli village in 2021 and his declaration of the village as 'Honey bee village of Manipur'.
He also reiterated his desire to producing honey from Waleli village with more purity and quality with the help of modern technology from ICAR-KVK Ukhrul.
