CM Biren in Gujarat to attend Madhavpur Fair

Chief minister N Biren Singh is reported to have reached Porbandar in Gujarat on Tuesday to attend the Madhavpur Ghed Fair being held at the port city of the western Indian state.
The fair inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind on April 10 is being organised to show that Bharat is one with the strong belief that Lord Krishna from Dwarka of Gujarat married princess Rukmini from the North East of India.
CM Biren twitted on his social media account that the fair is a significant one as it shows cultural diversity between western region and north eastern region of India.
This kind of festival shows that India is one, he twitted.
Chief ministers of other NE states are also taking part in the festival while several cultural troupes are showing their performance at the festival.
Mention may be made that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had during his monthly 'Maan Ki Baat' radio programme last month had stated that Madhavpur Fair is a festival to bring together cultures of western and north eastern regions of the country.
He also stated that such festival is a perfect example of 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' .
