NSS conducts awareness programme in Sadim Lizai village

Senapati, April 12 2022:
NSS executives conducted an outreach programme at Sadim Lizai village in Senapati district under the theme of 'awareness through action' .
NSS executives including T Joseph and RP Julia, unit 2, Clement, Sanaliu Kamei and Victoria, along with 4 other NSS volunteers headed to Sadim Lizai village for an outreach services.
The team of 9 started their journey from Kavanam village at 4:00 pm and reached Sadim by 6:50 pm.
The journey on foot took the team 2 hours and 50 minutes.
The team accomodated in the ex-catechist's resident.
The next day, April 9, the volunteers took up a major activities, cleanliness drive and cleaning of the village water ponds.
The volunteers were greeted by the village Chairman and thanked the team for choosing their village.
The activity started by 8:00 am, the volunteers cleaned the whole village picking up plastics, papers, glasses and all the non-biodegradable materials and burnt them.
The volunteers visited 3 ponds, collected all the plastics and papers around and installed 3 dustbins respectively and also they have cleaned one of the ponds.
The activities completed at around 1:30 pm.
The exhausted volunteers had tea and snacks for lunch.
On April 11, ie, Palm Sunday the volunteers actively participated in the church service of the village.
After the morning meal, the team went to visit the village conserved forest.
The thick oaks were green and favourable to the soil.
Further, the team also visited & LIZAI lake, a local tourist hotspot.
On April 11 the team left the village to senapati.
Wherein the volunteers thanked each other for the cooperation and the high spirit of the NSS, and then they dispursed to their own homes.
