Imphal, April 12 2022:
In connection with the foundation anniversary of JNIMS MBBS 3rd semester student Ningthoujam Dinesh, a blood donation camp was jointly organised by Youth Organisation of Utilities to Help (YOUTH), Service for Humanity and Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West Branch at JNIMS Blood Bank on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines, JNIMS Blood Bank MO in-charge Dr Konsam Surjit remarked that the camp was-organised to inform the masses that the medical fraternity has never shied away from donating blood, as is often presumed.
In all, 30 people donated blood in the first phase of the camp out of the targeted 50 donors.
He then reminded the camp organisers that the donated blood cannot be stocked in the bank for more than 35 days.
Thus, there is a need for organising mass blood donation camp when there is large requirement or reducing the number of donors when the demand declines, he added.
