Imphal, April 12 2022:
Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI/MSC) organised a sit-in protest in front of the party's office at Kakching town on Monday, protesting against the rising prices of essential items and fuel after the BJP government came to power.
Speaking on the sidelines, CPI state secretary L Sotinkumar remarked that the rising prices have significantly impacted the lives of the common people.
Additionally, the prices in Manipur seem to be much higher than in other states, which is condemnable.
The government is doing whatever they want in favour of the corporates, while pushing the people deeper into more difficulties.
Further denouncing the Home Minister's announcement of making Hindi compulsory till Class X in all northeastern states, Sotinkumar said that this is a reflection of the RSS agenda of 'One Country, One Language, One Religion' .
The announcement will not serve anything good other than affecting the language and culture of the states and widening the chasm of integration, he cautioned.
Among others, the sit-in was attended by district secretary E Sarat; women leader Y Roma; state executive members, along with local secretaries and members of Kakching and Thoubal districts.
