DESAM lauds schools for refunding excess fee

While recounting that it asked return of the amount charged in excess of the examination fee fixed by BSEM and COHSEM from students of Class X, XI and XII, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has lauded formal processes by the schools to uphold its proposal.
In a release, education secretary Thounaojam Somol Luwang said DESAM has been raising objection against the policy of colleges offering Class XI and XII courses along with demanding return of the extra money charged from students for form fill up.
Considering the complaints received from various quarters DESAM approached authorities of Delta Advance School, Kwakeithel; Helping Hands Group Academy, Sangaiprou; Brajalal Institute of Sciences, Moirahgkhom; Regional College, Lilong Chajing; Comprehensive Concept College, Sangaiprou; Pravabati College, Mayang Imphal; Little Master, Samurou; Kumbi College; Competitive Success Academy, Uripok; Bright Career Academy, Thiyam Leishangkhong; Chanambam Thambou Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal; Special Regular English School, Nambol; Extra Edge, Ghari; Comet School, Changangei; Her bert School and SI School, Canchipur; Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong; Brighter School, Phoijing; Oinam Government Higher Secondary School, Bishnu-pur Public School, Advance Intermediate College, Moirang; Bethel English School, Nambol Chingmang; Nambol Higher Secondary, Nambol and Royal Academy of Advance Learning, Top Siphai.
While informing that some of the aforementioned schools/colleges have already issued notices for returning the extra money, Somol asked authorities of school that charged extra money in excess of the government-fixed fee amount to issue requisite notice and return the excess money to the students at the earliest.
He continued that DESAM is preparing to meet several more schools against which complaints have been received.
