Postal ballot arranged for essential services

Imphal, February 01 2022:
Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur has notified that employees serving in essential departments, who will not be present in their respective polling station on the day of polling (February 27 and March 3) to cast their vote through the postal ballot.
As per a notice issued by additional chief electoral officer N Praveen Singh, such Absentee Voters (AVES) employed in Electricity Department, BSNL, Railways, Post & Telegram, Doordar-shan, All India Radio, Health Department in connection with Covid-19, Aviation, Fire Services, Ambulance Service and Media persons authorised by ECI for coverage on the polling day, wishing to vote by.
postal ballot has to formally apply to the returning officer along with requisite particulars.
The applications verified by the nodal officer appointed by the organisation should reach the Returning Officer from the date of announcement of election to five days from last date of receipt of Form-12D, which is February 6 for First phase and February 9 for Second Phase.
