Thoubal, February 01 2022:
N Eshabi, mother of N Rohit, who was shot dead on December 21, 2021, has questioned inability of the state government and the Police Department in recovering the firearm used in killing her son and the delay in punishing the culprits as per the law.
Speaking on the sidelines of a sit-in protest organised on Tuesday by the JAC against the brutal killing N Rohit at Heirok Part 2 Mayai Leikai, N Eshabi demanded that the gun used in the killing be seized at the earliest and the culprits punished without any leniency.
Alleging indifferent attitude of the government on the incident, she questioned why it has remained silent over the killing of his son who was shot dead right in front of his father.
The protestors also demanded authorities concerned to take stringent action against the criminals who are possessing illegal weapons and book them under NSA.
It may be recalled that N Rohit was shot dead on December 21, 2021 in a poll-related incident.
The JAC formed in connection with the killing has been protesting democratically demanding justice for N Rohit and has vowed to continue the stir until the perpetrators are punished as per the law.
