Shiv Sena to field 2 more candidates

The State unit of the Shiv announced its second list of 2 candidates for the Assembly election, fielding former Chairperson of Hill Areas Committee (HAC) T Thangzalam Haokip from Henglep and Toijam Debananda from Keirao Constituency.
With this, Shiv Sena has so far announced eight candidates for the total 60 Assembly seats in Manipur, which will go to poll in two phases on February 27 and March 3 .
T Thangzalam Haokip who won the 11th Assembly election on BJP ticket resigned as an MLA on June 17, 2020 due to some political situations.
Addressing a function at Babupara, Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi stated that the party is preparing to field at least 15 candidates.
Continuing that Shiv Sena is expecting to win 5-6 seats, he appealed to all to shun casting aspersions on any candidate.
"If Shiv Sena comes to power then the party will focus on women empowerment, employment and improve infrastructure," he added.
TT Haokip said that he joined Shiv Sena by putting complete faith in the party ideology and exuded confidence of winning the election.
He also said that the Congress party will be his close competitor.
