Joykumar also informed that most of the candidates were in the race for BJP ticket and some of them were members of BJP Core Committee.
NPP MLA N Kayisii was also member of BJP Core Committee but he was denied ticket by the party.
One should understand that getting BJP ticket is not a free pass to victory.

Today, NPP has the strength to stand against major political parties like Congress and BJP, he said and urged the new entrants to leave behind their old ideologies and join the 'one voice, one northeast' campaign of NPP.
In the last election, NPP candidate from Wangoi AC Kh Loken suffered defeat to Congress on postal ballot votes.
As such, candidates need to pay more attention towards postal ballot votes since differently abled people and elderly voters are being allowed to opt for postal ballot this time, he added.
NPP state unit's working president L Jayantakumar said that NPP was formed with the objective to raise a united voice of northeast region and its people.
The party believes in a united northeast but not in hill-valley division.
It is a must to promote a strong political party that can raise the voice of northeast at the national level and NPP is the only party with potential and capabilities, he added.
He also said that he often told chief minister Biren that conducting cabinet meetings in the hill district headquarters alone in the name of Go to Hills cannot bring inclusive development.
