District Level Youth Convention organised

District Election Officer, Thoubal and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Thoubal jointly organised District Level Youth Convention on Tuesday at the conference hall of CEO, Thoubal Zilla Parishad for youth club leaders of Thoubal and Kakching to make them aware about various aspects of SVEEP- Ethical & Informed Voting, Use of Voter Helpline App, cVIGIL app, KYC (Know your candidate) app and 1950 Voter Helpline.
The convention, during which detailed information on youth related programmes and schemes was shared, was attended by over 50 representatives of different youth clubs of the two districts.
In a release, NYK district youth officer Michael Thangminlien Mate informed that MSRLM Thoubal BBM Dr Sharungbam Ronel Singh, NYK Thoubal DACYP member Konsam Lokendro Singh and CSC-VLE Usham Surchand Singh attended the convention as presidium members /resource persons.
The Convention was opened with keynote address by K Lokendro Singh who said District Youth Convention provides a platform for youth leaders to express their opinions and suggestions for youth empowerment and to orient the youth on schemes and programmes related to youth development.
He also highlighted programmes and schemes under Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and Department of Youth Affairs, MoYAS.
On the other-hand, Dr Sharungbam Ronel presented a detailed account on various skill development schemes and courses for the youth and SHGs under MSRLM-DDU GKY, RSETI etc, while U Surchand Singh elaborated on process to avail government schemes like Community Service Centres, e-Shraam.

NYK Thoubal ex-volunteer N Premchand Singh too shared his experience on 'Catch The Rain' campaign and exhorted those gathered to contribute their mite towards promoting Rainwater Harvesting & Water Conservation.
Queries raised by the youth leaders were cleared by Michael Thangminlien Mate, who also highlighted the completed as well as upcoming programmes of NYK Thoubal in the coming months, and also gave the message of "Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible & Participative".
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NYK Thoubal volunteers.
