State logs 327 new cases, 4 deaths

The state on Tuesday reported 327 new cases of Covid-19 out of 2137 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a daily positivity rate of 15.30 per cent which is a 2 per cent dip from Monday's 17.55 per cent.
Tuesday also reported four death cases which took the toll from the pandemic to 2050 .
The deceased were residents of Imphal West, Bishnupur, Kangpokpi and Tamenglong districts.
Two of them had received second dose of Covid vaccines and the two others were unvaccinated.
In the last 24 hours, 346 pa tients were discharged from home isolation (231), RIMS (9), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (97).The active cases came down to 3961 out of which 1288 (32.52 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 235 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 162 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only three did not report any fresh Covid cases on Tuesday.
So far, the state has recorded 7795 positive cases and 48 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic, which could be counted from January 1 this year.
The current month has reported 327 new positive cases and 4 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 2632 and 19 respectively.
According to official reports, the 327 new positive cases included 322 people (158 male & 164 female) from among the general population and 5 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (27), JNIMS (46) and other testing centres (254) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (77), Imphal West (131), Thoubal (27), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (8), Kangpokpi (7), Tamenglong (11), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (12), Senapati (11), Chandel (3) and Churachan dpur (17) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,33,583 (general population - 1,28,620 and CAPF personnel - 4,963) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,27,572 (general population - 1,22,787 and CAPF personnel - 4,785) and number of active cases is 3961 (general population - 3790 and CAPF personnel - 171).The recovery rate is 95.50 per cent.
A total of 246 D-type and 96 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
A total of 11,092 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,30,547 out of which 10,49,545 have received second doses and 29,797 have received precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (47,469), Imphal East (29,639), Thoubal (9883), Churachandpur (10,858), Kangpokpi (3049), Tamenglong (3385), Bishnupur (9552), Senapati (2407), Ukhrul (3144), Kakching (6702), Chandel (2619), Noney (1124), Tengnoupal (1162), Jiribam (1108), Kamjong (1017) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (688), Imphal East (490), Thoubal (180), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur 198), Senapati (11), Ukhrul 48}, Kakching (117), Chandel 42), Noney (4), Tengnoupal 14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,050 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 29,590 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,93,016 tests per million population against the national average of 5,21,384 TPM.
Case fatality rate came down to 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2137 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.30 per cent while the cumulative positivity rose to 8.73 per cent.
