Virus spread continues with 91 more cases

Imphal, July 26 2022:
The State reported 91 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, the third highest since the onset of the 4th wave of the pandemic and registered a single day positivity rate of 9 per cent.
With this figure, the State now has 608 active cases.
Manipur updated the highest single day Covid positive cases of the fourth wave at 98 on July 20 and the 94 updated four days earlier on July 16 was the second highest.
The fresh cases are residents of Imphal East (13), Imphal West (39), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (5), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (2), Senapati (6), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Churachandpur (7) and Chandel (2) .
Though the State has not seen a spike of Covid cases in triple digit in a single day during the fourth wave, there is no respite either in the rate of infections as the figure has been above 70 since July 13.The 91 new Covid cases were confirmed at RIMS (23), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (64) while testing 1013 samples.
The single day positivity rate was highest at Bishnupur (25 pc) and lowest among the district which reported at least one new case was Churachandpur while the positivity rate of Imphal East and Imphal West which reported the maximum cases were 10.5 per cent and 17.3 per dent respectively.
Now new Covid death was reported in the period and as such the figure remains at 2126 with Imphal West reporting the maximum deaths at 705 .
Pherzawl is the only district in Manipur which hasn't reported any Covid related fatality till date.
Today, 88 persons were discharged from home isolation (68), RIMS (8), JNIMS (8) and SHRI (4) and with this the recovered cases has mounted to 1,35,988.The recovery rate is 98.03 per cent.
As per Covid Common Control Room, at least 34 Covid beds are vacant at RIMS (20) and JNIMS (14).Yesterday, 7586 Covid vaccine doses were administered and in the same period 200 D-type and 21 B-type oxygen cylinders were distributed.
As per the Government bulletin, at least 53.81 per cent of the total eligible population in Manipur are fully vaccinated against the contagion while another 62.15 per cent have taken the first dose.
