HC dismisses PIL

The High Court of Manipur has dismissed the PIL seeking a direction to the authorities of the State Government to pass appropriate orders with regard to the order passed by Manipur Lokayukta in complaint case number 2 of 2020 against officials of MSPCL.
Dismissing the PIL, Chief Justice of Manipur High Court Sanjay Kumar and Justice MV Muralidharan observed that the petitioner lacked in bonafides in his motive and actions in filing and pursuing the PIL (number 10 of 2022).The Court also made the final remark in its order that though the petitioner is fully deserving of being mulct (fined) with exemplary costs, the Court desists from doing so as the issue raised by him was in public interest though his motives were obviously not.
The PIL (number 10 of 2022) was filed by a resident of Pishum Ningom Leirak, Imphal, Laitonjam Meghachandra.
