Imphal, July 26 2022:
The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) staged a protest demonstration against the repeated summons of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate in the National Herald money laundering case at Congress Bhavan, today.
Reportedly, several volunteers of MPYCC also torched the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at BT Road today over the arrest of several Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi during a protest march carried out by the Congress party against the price hike of essentials and misuse of Government agencies.
By the sideline of protest demonstration, MPCC president Keisham Meghachandra said that they strongly condemn the alleged misuse of ED by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to mentally torture Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi.
Saying that MPCC will always stand against 'such misuse of power', Meghachandra said that BJP is misusing other Constitutional institutions too to harass Opposition leaders who criticise its policies.
