DMUTA suspends stir

After a team of the association called on education minister and arrived an understanding with the government in respect to their demands, Dhanamanjuri University Teachers' Association (DMUTA) has suspended its agitation of boycotting PG and PhD/Research related activities of DMU.
In a release, DMUTA convenor Dr K Anthony informed that a delegation met the education minister in his office chamber on Monday in the
presence of the DMU VC, HTE commissioner, UHE director, DMU registrar and additional director UHE, in connection with the on-going agitation.
During the meeting an understanding with the government in respect of the demands of DMUTA was arrived at and the education minister gave his firm and sincere assurances.
Subsequently, DMUTA in its emergency executive committee meeting held on Tuesday resolved that the teachers of the five constituent colleges of DMU shall exercise the option for absorption in DMU in honour of the conditions agreed upon in the meeting and temporarily suspended the on-going boycott.
However, the teachers of the five constituent colleges will continue to hold symbolic protest by wearing black badges till the issue of bifurcation and absorption is settled as assured, he added.
