Remand for two

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Churachandpur today remanded two active cadres of KNA(I), a defunct SoO Group, to five days police custody on the charge of threatening non Manipuris using the name of another outfit NRFM.
The two cadres were arrested by Churachandpur police yesterday from different places and produced before the Court with a prayer of 5 days police custody remand.
The IO of the case submitted that the police received inputs about some unknown persons who claimed to be members of NRFM serving monetary demands to 5 non Manipuris who run shops at Lailam veng and Nute Bazaar.
As per the IO, the miscreants claimed that they were sent by NRFM leaders who killed one non Manipuri Anand Gupta recently and had also collected some money from two shops.
Based on the information a suo moto case was registered under different IPC and UA(P) Act for investigation.
During investigation after a thorough analysis of CCTV footages collected from nearby the targeted shops, the two accused persons were arrested from different places and they have identified as Paolalmon Singson (24) years, s/o Late Thangkhilal Singson of Tollen Village and Letthang Haokip (45) s/o Late Thangneh Haokip of Majuron Kuki Village, Leimatak presently staying at Mongjang Village, Churachandpur.
On preliminary examination, the duo clarified that they are members of KNA (I) and used NRFM name to intimidate the non Manipuri shopkeepers.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded the two accused to police custody till July 30 .
