ATSUM suspends shutdown call

With the State Government brokering an agreement, the All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has agreed to 'keep in abeyance' the total shutdown it had called and which was to come into force from April 4 .
The decision of ATSUM was arrived at during a meeting with RIMS authority in the presence of TA and Hills Minister, Health and Family Welfare Minister and Chairman of Hill Areas Committee.
An MoU towards this end was inked between the student body and RIMS authority represented by its Director and Medical Superintendent.
As per the MoU, RIMS authority agreed to cancel the appointment of LDCs at RIMS.
It was also agreed that within one week RIMS will declare the results adhering to the reservation norms of SC (3 pc), OBC (13 pc) and ST (34 pc) based on the DPC already conducted.
It was also agreed that in future RIMS will follow the existing rules and DoPT guidelines in matters of recruitment to C and D posts in the medical institute.
ATSUM on its part agreed to suspend its proposed total shutdown.
