Ex-servicemen stage protest demanding revision of OROP-II

Ex-servicemen of Thoubal district under the aegis of All Ex-Servicemen (JCOs/OR) Association Manipur staged a demonstration at the Multipurpose Hall in Thoubal Achouba on Monday demanding the settlement of anomalies in One Rank One Pension (OROP-II) scheme.
A large number of retired personnel of Indian Army and widows of ex-servicemen took part in the demonstration along with AFESWA executive member secretary, retired Subedar M Khogendra; Honorary Captain, P Khelen Singh; Subedar Honorary Captain, S Babu; and Zilla Sainik Board secretary, S Yaima.

Speaking to media persons, Subedar Honorary Captain S Babu called for a revision in the scheme and urged the Central Government to give equal Military Service Pay (MSP), equal disability pension, equal fitment allowance & high allowance, equal ex-gratia for all ranks, enhance rate family pension till 67 years of age and confer Gallantry Awards to real heroes.
He also shared that memorandums will be submitted to the State Government, Prime Minister and Defence Minister of India in this regard.
Placards with the slogans such as, "We demand settlement of anomalies in OROP-II", "Make equal MSP for all ranks", "Inclusion of OROP for PMR", "Disposition of disparity in disability pension", etc were used at the demonstration.
CHURACHANDPUR
Joined the Nation-wide protest against OROP-II, hundreds of ex-servicemen from Churachandpur district today staged a sit-in at PT Sports Complex.
The protest organised by All Ex-Servicemen (JCOs/OR) Association, Churachandpur was attended by veteran JCOs, ORs, Veer Naris and Widows.
The protesters alleged that there is still a huge gap between the pensions of officers and other ranks who are always at the forefront.
The also claimed that allowances and other perks were unfairly decided in the OROP-II .
