'Vishwa Kalyan Varta' at Raj Bhawan on Apr 5

"Vishwa Kalyan Varta", an event to commemorate the 2550th Nirvana Year of Teerthankar Bhagwan Mahavir, will be held on April 5 at Raj Bhavan, here.
In a release, Jan Arogyam Foundation informed that the "Vishwa Kalyan Varta" is the brainchild of Foundation's founder Devendra Brahmachari.
The event will feature a special discussion on 'Live and Let Live', the first school of non-violence (Ahimsa) special felicitation for hardworking and important personalities associated with various fields.
Besides Governor Anusuiya Uikey and chief minister N Biren, the event will also be participated by Tanzania consulate Krishna N Pimple and renowned industrialists' from India and aboard.
The event will be recorded for posterity in an atmosphere of full devotion and faith, and telecast through major channels of the country.
Meanwhile, Governor Anusuiya Uikey and CM N Biren have extended their warm greetings to the people of Manipur, especially to the Jain community on the occasion Mahavir Jayanti.
In her message, Governor Uikey said that Lord Mahavira, an apostle of peace and non-violence, showed humanity the path to salvation through love, compassion mercy and abdication of material elements.
His teachings transcend all barriers and His everlasting message of peaceful co-existence rings true even now, she added.
Similarly, CM Biren said that an apostle of truth and righteousness, Lord Mahavir was the 24th and last Tirthankara of the Jain faith.
He propounded that ahimsa is the supreme moral virtue and stressed that all living beings, irrespective of their size, shape, form and how spiritually developed or undeveloped, are equal, the chief minister added.
