Army's NE Car Rally reaches state

Imphal, April 03 2023:
Purvottar Bharat Parikrama, a car rally of Indian Army reached here on Monday after covering 2300 km across five states namely, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland in the past 11 days.
The 38-member Pan NE Car Rally led by Brig KM Shinde includes living legend of Kargil War and Param Vir Chakra awardee subedar major (honorary captain) Yogendra Singh Yadav.
In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that members of the car rally were first received by Mao MLA Losii Dikho at Asufii Christian Institute (ACI), Mao and later by MLA Dr Yumnam Radheshyam Singh at NCC Group HQ, Imphal.
As part of the programme, major Yogendra Singh Yadav gave a motivational talk to students of ACI, Mao.
The rally team also distributed schools bags, sports items to the institution and unfurled the National Flag in ACL Later, NCC cadets of Imphal Group welcomed the 11 vehicles of car rally followed by formal 'flagged in' by MLA Radheshyam at NCC Group HQ, Imphal.
The event also witnessed presentation of motivational books to NCC Imphal Group for distribution to all cadets, which were received by the under-officer Yumnam Ishwariya Devi, who won the 'North East Region Best Cadet Award' in August 2022.The Purvottar Bharat Rally also organised ex-servicemen (ESMs) Rally in Imphal where it distributed wheelchairs, hearing aids and walking sticks to the ESMs.
It may be mentioned that the rally is traversing through NE states of India to commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav'.
The initiative aims to promote national unity, camaraderie and national integration among people of different states, religions and cultures bringing together different sections of society and building a 'New India' that is stronger and more prosperous.
