Rally protests anti-people polices of NDA Govt

As part of the nationwide general strike called by Central Trade Union, Independent Association and Federation against alleged anti-people and anti-worker policies of NDA government, a protest meeting was held on Tuesday at Irawat Bhawan and then took out a protest rally around Rupmahal Tank and BT road.
The protest meet cum rally was participated by AITUC Manipur state general secretary L Sotinkumar, CPI secretariat member A Lala, AITUC leaders Th Suresh, O Kanhai and Biswaraj Potsangbam, CITU Manipur state committee secretary Ksh Shanta, volunteers of Manipur Barbers' Association including Bapu Yadav and volunteers of trade unions.
According to Sotinkumar, banks of the state, BSNL volunteers, Gramin Dak Seya volunteers and many government employees ceased their work for the day as part of the protest but the general strike did not restrict movement of people and vehicles in the state in view of the ongoing SAPO bandh, approaching examinations and Cheiraoba festival.
The protest was staged and participated voluntarily in pursuance of the demand for rectification of government policies, he said, while appealing to people to support and join further agitations to be launched.
