Imphal, July 28 2026:
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) staying at relief camps at Sajiwa and Sawombung stormed the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sawom- bung today demanding release of pending monetary assistance and relief.
The IDPs sat in front of the office and prevented the movement of the SDO.
While police took measures to prevent unwanted incidents, the IDPs met with the SDO and highlighted their grievances.
Later, the IDPs dispersed after the SDO showed the IDPs documents as proof of the Deputy Commissioner instructing a bank to release the pending assistance.
