The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to solve the prevailing situation in Manipur and its adjoining areas due to the indefinite bandh being imposed by the Southern Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) .
NESO is a conglomerate of Khasi Students' Union (KSU), All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Naga Students' Federation (NSF), Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Twipra Students' Federation (TSF), All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Garo Students' Union (GSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) .
In a statement, NESO stated that the situation in Manipur and its adjoining areas has been deteriorating due to the imposition of total shutdown on National Highway 2, which is the lifeline of Manipur, since March 23 .
Continuing that the shutdown has greatly affected the lives and livelihood of the innocent people, NESO urged the Government to initiate proactive measures to solve the problem.
"All stakeholders should be brought to the negotiating table to resolve the issue amicably," it urged.
