Imphal, March 29 2022:
Unemployed Pharmacist Association of Manipur (UPAM) has advised against the operation of unlicensed pharmacies and further urged wholesale sellers of medicine to avoid doing business with unlicensed pharmacies or ones whose license have expired.
The decision to lay down these guidelines comes after UPAM conducted a meeting today, a statement from the association has informed.
The statement further urged individuals to stop selling medications to doctors at their private clinics or residences without any valid license and also urged wholesale license holders from misusing their licenses by selling in retail.
Medical representatives have also been advised to immediately stop the transportation of saleable drugs to retailers/doctors.
The statement also urged concerned individuals to stop colluding with doctors in monopolising over certain medication by limiting their availability to selected pharmacies.
UPAM urged pharmacists of the state to abide by the aforementioned guidelines and conduct their business without violating professional ethics.
