NH-39 project work wins award

Imphal, March 29 2022:
The Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39 from Wangjing to Khongkhang with a total length of 44.780 km (two-lane with paved shoulder) executed by GR Infraprojects Limited (GRIL) under NHIDCL at a cost of Rs 868.75 crore has won the 13th CIDC Vishwakarma Award-2022 presented by Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) under the category 'Best Construction Project' .
In a release, GRIL senior project manager Ishwar Singh Arya stated that the project is part of the India-Myanmar-Thailand Corridor, funded by Asian Development Bank and has been named as AS-1 highway.
The highway passes through steep hilly terrain and faced difficulties during construction due to extreme weather conditions as for six to eight months its topography witnesses rainy weather.
Despite all odds, the project has been completed 3.5 months ahead of the scheduled completion date, it added.
In the statement, Ishwar mentioned that the new technology of Breast Wall Construction implemented for the project has been received with appreciation and has been adopted by other government agencies as well.
