'Nagaland bandh handiwork of some elements'

Science and Technology Minister Th Biswajit Singh has clarified that the indefinite bandh being imposed on National Highway 2 is not an outcome of disagreement between the Manipur and Nagaland Government but a demonstration by a particular group to get their demand.
Addressing the valedictory function of the 4 day National Mathematics and Science Day at Takyel today, Biswajit said that resolving the issue through a dialogue at the Government level would be a right step.
Saying that BJP emphasises on peace and development, the Minister added that the State Government will find a solution for the impasse which has greatly affected the lives of the people soon.
About the event, Th Biswajit said that the role of science and technology is immense to bring social and economic progress and as such imparting the knowledge of the subject to the students is imperative.
Saying that he will strive to promote science and technology in the State, Th Biswajit appreciated the students who presented their ideas in the 4 day event.
The Minister also stated that he will consult with Chief Minister N Biren Singh to improve the infrastructure of science and technology in the State.
Science & Technology Commissioner Devesh Deval and Director of Department of Science & Technology Homila Hongrei also attended the valedictory function.
At the function, prizes for different competitions were also distributed while two teachers namely Oinam Ranjit of Oinam Government Higher Secondary School and Oinam Ibochou Singh of Catholic School, Canchipur were conferred best guide teacher for science model and best guide teacher for mathematics model awards respectively.
