Free eye check-up camp held

A comprehensive free eye check-up camp was held at Pouna Colony, Senapati today jointly organized by the Shija Eye Care Foundation, National Programme for Control of Blindness, National Health Mission (NPCB, NHM) and Abundant Grace Enlighten (AGE), Senapati.
As per a press release from Shija Hospitals, a total of 98 patients were examined for eye related problems where cases of 17 cataracts, 16 pterygiums, two chalazions, one squint and one ptosis were diagnosed.
Doctors along with other supporting staff of Shija Eye Care Foundation examined the patients.
Further seven Cataracts, one Pterygium, one Chalazion and one Surgical Capsulotomy were transported to Shija Eye Care Foundation, Langol for the corrective surgery today.
Those patients detected with eye related problems will be treated under NPCB (NHM)/CMHT/PMJAY Scheme.
It may be noted that Shija Eye Care Foundation in collaboration with various local clubs and NGOs have been organizing free eye check-up camps regularly.
