Mathematics, Science Day observance concludes

The four-day National Mathematics and Science Day organised by Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal in coordination with Science Teachers Forum, Manipur with the support of National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) concluded on Tuesday at MASTEC complex, Takyel.
The closing function was attended by science & technology minister Th Biswajit Singh as chief guest, commissioner (science & technology) Devesh Deval as president and director (science & technology) Homila Hongrei as guest of honour.
In his address, minister Biswajit said that science and technology is very important in the life of human beings and assured that be will discuss with the chief minister to fill the infrastructural lacunae and other requirements of science and technology department.
He also vowed to pay special attention towards developing the department.
Regarding the ongoing bandh along Imphal-Dimapur road in Nagaland, Biswajit said that there is no misunderstanding or enmity between two neighbouring states and the bandh is being called by a private group over certain grievances.
However, government is trying to address their grievances through leaders of the two neighbouring states in a peaceful way and an understanding on the matter could be reached soon.
Prizes of different mathematics and science competitions organised as part of the four day long National Mathematics and Science Day observance were also distributed to winners at the function.
Two teachers were also presented prizes for bringing out good students while the best guide teacher science model was bagged by Oinam Ranjit Singh of Oinam Govt Higher Secondary School.
Best guide teacher for mathematics model was given to Oinam Ibochou Singh of Catholic School, Canchipur.
