As many as 28 semifinal bouts were decided on the second day of the Mega State Level Open Boxing Championships 2022 at the Khuman Lamapak Boxing Arena on Tuesday.
Jackson Pukhrambam Singh beat Mahendra Soti to meet Yuhlung Eraingam Chothe in the final of the men's elite 54kg event.
Pumsonthang Singson out-punched Beldari Shahid Afrid in their semifinal bout of the men's elite 60kg event.
He will now face Rahul Kumar who got a walkover against Pukhrambam Jetli in the semifinal.
In the men's youth event, Pheiroijam Nonglen Meitei outperformed K Yaima Meitei to advance to the 54kg category final where he will face Kaping Hongchui, who defeated G Dakginlian in their semifinal bout.
In the 63.5kg category semifinals, Musha Ahamad beat Thiaumuanlal Gangte while Thokchom Hem-let Singh prevailed over Chinglemba Moirangthem.
On the other hand, Chingangbam Agu Singh will face Nandeibam Babychand Meitei in the junior boys' -48kg event final as Ningombam Ripa Devi will take on Kimhoinei Telen Kom in the junior girls' -50kg summit clash.
The finalists in the sub-junior boys' competition were Khaidem Sanatomba Meitei (-46kg), Nongthombam Henthoiba Singh (-46kg), Laishram Mangansana Singh (-58kg), Rakesh Konjengbam (-52kg), Konjengbam Pathouba (-52kg), Tonambam Chingkheinganba (-35kg), Laishangbam Uningba Khuman (-35kg), Johnson Khoirom, Singh (-55kg), Sairengchung Serto Kom (-55kg), Khundom Robert Singh (-40kg), Khamnam Rojesh Singh (-40kg), Sandham Victor Singh (-49kg), Ningthemsana Sanjenbam (-49kg), Maibam Jet Singh (-49kg) and Thoumujam Paikhomba Meitei (-49kg) .
