The Federal Students Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has appealed to the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and State Government to take up immediate measures to ensure that there is no shortage of textbooks for Class 1 to 10 .
The student body in a press release said that it had conducted an inspection drive at the various bookstores across the State and has found that a number of text books for Class 1 to 10 mainly Social Science, Hindi, Manipuri, English, Higher Maths, Additional English and Supplementary Reader are not available in the market.
Expressing concern on the matter, the student body said that the situation has come up due to resumption of physical classes in view of the improving condition of COVID-19 pandemic in the State and the increasing demand for textbooks for the same.
Therefore FESOK has urged the BOSEM and State Government to look into the matter at the earliest so that there is no shortage of textbooks in the larger interest of the students.
If their request remains unheeded, the student body cautioned that it will take up stringent actions against the authorities concerned.
