Imphal, July 28 2026: Imagi Meira has written to the Governor, Chief Minister and Speaker urging them to convene the monsoon session of the State Assembly at the earliest.

Speaking to reporters at the Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Imagi Meira president Sujata said that they urged the State Government to convene the monsoon session of the Assembly to discuss the issues facing Manipur and swiftly introduce and pass a Bill to protect indigenous communities.

The Imagi Meira is further urging the Government to expedite the return and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons, and allow village volunteers to operate under a legal framework.

The representation submitted to the Government also urged it to expedite investigations into cases related to the Manipur crisis, Sujata said.

If no actions are taken on the demands within five days, Imagi Meira may launch fresh agitation, Sujata added.
